Scope of work:
- Exploring various options, merits and feasibility of coal sourcing, grade and quality of coal, phasing of requirement and delivery point.
- Exploring various options, merits and feasibility in selection of sources of coal, mine owners, import agents, marine and inland transporters for transport unto the respective location.
- Assess feasibility of pricing modules.
- Explore options of ensuring participation by appropriate miners, import agents, marine and inland transporters.
- Support to MAHAGENCO in the bid process for the selection of an agency.
- Preparation of the long term supply agreement addressing provisions of international trade, custom clearances, environmental clearances, marine laws, statutory and non-statutory requirements, and safety requirements.

Scope of work:
- Analysis of the draft coal vision and coal import requirement of thermal (steam) coal in India.
- Assessment of likely capacity additions based on coal generation, by region.
- Expected demand for coal by region.
- Expected region-wise and agency-wise production of coal from Coal Producing Companies (CIL, SCCL) over the above projection period.
