In a pioneering move, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) plans to develop its own 500 MW coal-based thermal power plant near Nagpur. “The unique feature of this plant would be that it would utilize water from the Sewage Treatment Plant of NMC for power generation and not draw upon the scarce water resources of the Vidarbha region”.

For this path-breaking assignment, NMC has engaged Feedback Ventures as a “one-stop shop” for assisting it on all the pre-developmental activities including technical studies, fuel linkage, environment clearance, selection of the private developer, etc. The land for the power plant will be made available by NMC close to its sewage treatment plant at Bandewadi, about 10 km. from the Nagpur City. The proposed power plant is intended to be developed through Public Private Partnership.
