Bid advisory services to Essel Group

Client: Essel Group, Mumbai

Assignment: Essel Group intended to bid for the BOT Road project promoted by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and MPRDC in different stretches. Feedback Ventures carried out the project structuring and recommendation of financial quote for the project.

Project description: The services provided by Feedback Ventures included:

Review of the concession agreement, project contractual structure, protection of PIPL’s interests and equitable risk allocation.
Assistance in discussions during the pre-bid meetings.
Review of toll structure and realistic estimation of revenue streams.
Detailed financial modeling and feasibility study with alternative structuring options (based on current financing practices).
Estimation of project returns.
Evolving strategies for bidding.
Analysis of competition, likely consortia formation, strengths & weaknesses of select bidders.
Assistance in finalization of bidding strategy based on perceived risks and opportunities.
Recommendation on financial “quote”.
Assistance in preparation of bid.
Assistance and handholding in negotiations with NHAI.

Project structuring and financing or bid process management for the Government of Punjab

Client: Punjab Industrial Development Board (PIDB).

Assignment: Project configuration and bid process management of 5 road projects in Punjab for PIDB.

Project description:
The project included preliminary feasibility, configuration of projects, developing concession package, bid process management and negotiation support.
Projects executed include:

4- Laning of Chandigarh-Ludhiana highway.
Laning of the Southern Ludhiana bypass.
Privatization of 4 Laning of the Ludhiana – Moga highway.
Laning of the Ropar – Balachaur – Nawanshahr – Phagwara highway.
Improvement of the Khanna – Samarala – Machhiwara- Rahon – Nawanshahr road.

Feedback also assisted PIDB in raising Rs. 300 crore bond issue for financing the road projects.
