Introduction India's Tourism and Hospitality sector is growing at 10 to 15 percent a year. Driven by a surge in business traveler arrivals and a soaring interest in India as a tourist destination, the year 2006 had 4.5 million foreign visitors. Over the last few months, tier-II cities like Jaipur, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore are seeing growth both in occupancy and room rates. While occupancy is around 75 to 80 percent, room rates are up by 15 to 20 percent in these markets. Global hospitality majors are exploring plans of entering India.
