Business Expansion and Market Entry Strategy
Client: A leading corporate healthcare player.

Assignment: Assessing the attractiveness of various urban centers for a leading corporate client's expansion strategy.

Project Description: Formulating a business expansion strategy through detailed micro-market studies across fifteen Indian cities. Elements of study included:

  • Healthcare supply analysis: estimating quantum of supply and competitor analysis.

  • Demand analysis: Estimating demand for facilities across key specialty areas and assessing attractiveness of various specialties from a provider’s perspective.

  • Understanding consumer healthcare buying behavior.

  • Short listing and profiling key physicians, understanding their expectations and willingness to shift to new facilities.

Efficiency/ Performance Improvement
Client: A 300 bed multi-specialty hospital in South India.

Assignment: Improving the operational and financial performance to enable the client to emerge as a leading hospital in South India.

Project Description: Formulating and implementing a strategy to improve performance of the hospital; key elements include:

  • Diagnosis of key issues through a study of the hospital performance over the last few years and by benchmarking with key hospitals across the country.

  • Formulation of strategies for improving cost structure, asset utilization, specialty focus, internal processes, collections, customer management etc.

  • Redefining the product across positioning, configuration and human resource management.

  • Designing reporting formats and monitoring mechanisms.

  • Implementation support, preparation of operating manuals etc.

  Formulation of Business Strategies and Plans
Client: A corporate healthcare player.

Assignment: Assisting a Delhi-based hospital in its plan to re-emerge as a leading player.

Project Description: Feedback Ventures prepared a turn around strategy and a valuation model for the same. Key activities undertaken included:

  • Estimating the attractiveness of various specialties for the hospital through a detailed market analysis (including competitor profiles) as well as an economic analysis.

  • Assessing options for growth in the NCR as well as in the suburbs of the NCR; organic as well as inorganic growth options were evaluated.

  • Understanding the role of the referring consultants and key factors defining their choice. Feedback also looked at their arrangements with existing hospitals and defined the strategy for development of the referral network for the hospital.

  • Assessing the performance of stand alone imaging diagnostic centers to evaluate the option of offering low cost imaging to patients.

  • Understanding the CGHS payor model and the impact of the same on hospital revenues and doctor shares.

  • Formulating strategy for launch of Cardiac program.

  • Preparation of an investor presentation.

Joint Ventures and Alliances
Client: A leading corporate healthcare player.

Assignment: Facilitating business expansion through alliances and acquisitions

Project Description: Facilitating an alliance between a large corporate healthcare player and a private hospital in South India. Key elements included:

  • Partner/Target identification.

  • Due diligence.

  • Developing value proposition for both sides.

  • Deal structuring.
