Shailendra N. Roy is Vice-President & Head of Corporate Initiatives at Larsen & Toubro Limited. He is Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Hull, UK.

Roy started his career in 1975 as an Engineer with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited’s (BHEL) manufacturing unit at Haridwar. He was in the Overseas Project Division for Construction and Erection of Thermal & Hydro Power Plants.

He joined L&T as Head of Business Development in the year 2000 and was involved in initiating major forays into Road Projects for National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

He was selected as the Managing Director & CEO for Bharat Heavy Plates & Vessels Ltd. (BHPV), a Government of India undertaking, and served in that capacity between 2002 and 2004, before he re-joined L&T in May 2004.

He heads the Corporate Initiatives Department in the Chairman’s Office at L&T and is involved in L&T’s foray into Shipbuilding, Railways, Power Projects, etc.
