Preparation of a City Development Plan for Lucknow.

Client: Department of Urban Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh; WSP-SA.

Assignment: To design a 7-year City Development Plan for Lucknow under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission.

Project Description:

  • Assessment of the institutional, financial, socio economic structures and performance of various agencies and institutions functioning in Lucknow.

  • Participatory assessments of the key issues impacting service delivery to the urban poor.

  • Amalgamation and assessment of development interventions proposed and ongoing in Lucknow.

  • Drawing up a city investment plan on the basis of investment needs and finances available. Separate analysis and investment planning for the urban poor.

  • Identifying and phasing a reform agenda for the Lucknow Municipal Corporation and identification of the corresponding policy changes at state level for sustainable development of Lucknow.

 
Business plan for creating a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to undertake slum up-gradation activities for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

Client: Water and Sanitation Programme- South Asia, World Bank.

Assignment: To upscale the capacities of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s partners in order to expedite a city wide upgrading programme, covering 1300 slums.

Project Description: Feedback worked closely with all stakeholders of the SPV, viz., the AMC, NGOs and community groups to articulate the roles and responsibilities for each in the partnership. The organization structure of the SPV was also detailed along with a financial plan for implementation.
