Finding and implementing sustainable water solutions is one of the biggest challenges in infrastructure. Feedback Ventures is working with the central and state governments to bring about institutional reforms to boost municipal capacity, commercialize Urban Water Supply and Sanitation (UWSS) providers, and involve the private sector.


Feedback Ventures provides integrated solutions in the urban water supply and sanitation sector in India. These range from identifying the source of drinking water to designing treatment plants and distribution networks to wastewater treatment and disposal systems.

Feedback Ventures’ urban water supply and sanitation experience has been used by many Indian cities that have a combined population of more than 30 million citizens. The company initiated major state level water reforms in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, and Sikkim.

The world’s second most populous country with more than one billion people— India has a vast number of inhabitants who do not have access to adequate sanitation or safe water.  India faces the unique challenges of scarce surface water and deep groundwater that is difficult to reach.  Feedback provides solutions right from the identification of the source of the drinking water, design of treatment plants, and distribution network to wastewater treatment and disposal.  We are able to provide the optimum solution for any given combination of treatment objectives including cost, space, timescales and current legislative requirements.



Feedback has been actively working in water supply and sanitation sector. Feedback’s Capacity Building Division has provided consultancy services to a number of state governments in helping increase understanding of sector performance and identification of key challenges impacting performance. Our work has been supported through the World Bank and WSP-SA.

Feedback provides the following capacity building services in urban water supply and sanitation:

  • Assessments – Through studying the existing structures and processes from the perspective of different stakeholders—customers and service providers, evaluating overall sector performance and key factors impacting performance.

  • Enhancing participation – Through building capacities of stakeholders, enabling effective participation in leading change, enhancing efficiencies, improving the quality of decision making, improving managerial efficiencies and increasing accountabilities.

  • Institutional restructuring – Defining the most appropriate institutional arrangements for enhanced demand responsive service delivery, nurturing internal efficiencies through benchmarking performance.

  • Enhancing capacity for governance – Through process reengineering that leads to greater transparency, equity, accountability and responsiveness.

  • Technical Assistance – To equip state utilities and organizations for inclusive and participatory planning and establish partnerships for implementation.

  • Process Documentation, research studies, impact assessments, designing Monitoring and Evaluation systems and their implementation.

   

Feedback is equipped to provide services in water supply, sewerage, wastewater management, STPs, ETPs, drainage,disposal, recycling, and re-use besides solid waste management systems for private operators, developers, multilateral & government funded projects.
